Hearst Magazines sells nearly 800,000 monthly digital editions. The group’s 20 U.S. brands were among the first to debut on Google Play, making single copies, back issues and subscriptions available for Android users—and marking the first tablet issues for some Hearst brands. Hearst’s enhanced issues also figured prominently in the launch of the new iTunes Store. Hearst Magazines UK met success on the Apple Newsstand, with sales of more than 350,000 digital editions between January and June. And knowing that tablet metrics pack a mean punch, Hearst Magazines has begun sharing them with advertisers to illustrate the engagement of paid digital subscribers.
